Cotton Farms are agriculture constructs under the "farms" sub-category. They produce cotton from cotton seeds. Cotton seeds can be harvested from wild cotton or by importing cotton from abroad. Cotton must be owned beforehand, or the farm cannot be made.
The efficiency of the farm depends on the fertility of the soil the player builds it on. High irrigation will also help cotton farms, and can be increased if there is water in the tiles right next to it. This means that if the water is surrounding all or most tiles of the farm, it will receive the maximum amount of help the water could provide. Rain will also help cotton farms.
Through extension, cotton farms are good for obtaining fabric, which is made by cotton.
Cotton farms will not be function well in cold climates, with a -50% malus for production. If they're in a warm climate they preform much better, with a +50% bonus.
Cotton farm production can also be sped up by acquiring upgrades with knowledge points.
