The Mass Grave is a low tier, buildable civics area under the "graves" sub-category. It that allows a place where deceased citizens can be buried. It is very cheap, requiring only stone and no other components or resources to build. Fundamentally, it is a large pit dug in the ground. Occasionally, citizens will visit the area to mourn a loved one. Unlike the more advanced Afterlife constructs, such as the graveyard and the crypt, the Mass Grave does not provide citizens with happiness and comfort.
The Mass Grave is only good for keeping dead bodies out of the public area, and is a decent option when the player is just starting out, and resources are low. However, better graves should immediately be built once the settlement and resource collections improve, as to provide a place for citizens to properly mourn the deceased.
Because mass graves are obviously meant to be an outdoor-only construct, trying to build them inside structures will not work.
In-game description
"A rudimentary place to bury the diseased. Gives no happiness boosts, but can prevent the dangers of having decomposing bodies in the streets."
Trivia
- Bodies placed in the Mass Grave will appear as "burnt-looking" brown bodies, that will decay into skeletons after enough time.
