Clothes are one of four wearable resources in Songs of Syx. Clothes provide citizens protection from extreme temperatures, as well provide a boost to their happiness and self-esteem. There are two ways to obtain clothes: producing them in a textile tailor and through trading. Getting clothes through trading is relatively easy due to its low cost.
Both cotton and fabric are needed to make clothes. Cotton must be processed into fabric in a weaver, then the fabric must be made into clothes in a textile tailor. Because it all comes from cotton, clothes (as well as fabric) are technically renewable, because cotton is renewable through cotton farms. The player can customize how many items of clothing are allowed per citizen. Clothes are one of four resources that can be sent to campaigning armies on the world map through an army supply depot, the other three being rations, battlegear and drinks.
Clothes being provided to armies on the world map will boost their happiness and morale. Each soldier needs 2 units of clothes.
