Grain is one of ten food resources in Songs of Syx. There are two methods of obtaining grain: growing it in a grain farm, and through trading. Gaining grain through trading is relatively easy, due to its very low cost. Unlike any other food in the game, grain - by itself - cannot be eaten in its unprocessed form; it can, however, be put into a bakery and (with the help of coal to fuel the ovens) baked into bread, which is its main use for grain aside from trading.
Cretonians highly favor bread, due to them being vegetarians. Like any other food, it can be prepared in meals in canteens and eateries. Grain can also be made into alcoholic drinks at a grain brewery.
