Drinks are an alcoholic, consumable food resource in Songs of Syx. They are one of ten food resources in the game. They are obtained by brewing them in a distillery, grain brewery, or through trading. Drinks can be served in any active tavern. The low cost of drinks make them very easy to obtain in trading, offering a good method of obtaining drinks if low on the resources needed to make them.
When making drinks in a distillery or grain brewery, it will cost three resources: fruit/grain (depending on the building), pottery and coal, making drinks one of the most resource-expensive resources in the game. As one could easily assume, citizens drinking enough drinks will get them drunk, which causes them to stumble around, do goofy things and lay down in an attempt to sober up.
Because fruit and grain can be recreated from fruit farms and grain farms, while pottery and coal are not renewable, drinks are only partially renewable. Drinks are one of four resources that can be sent to campaigning armies on the world map through an army supply depot, the other three being rations, clothes and battlegear
Campaigning armies will receive a boost in morale when they get drinks, and will desert their armies if they go a long enough time without it.
