Paper is a resource in Songs of Syx. It's created from wood at a papermaker, or can be cheaply obtained through trading. The importance of papers stems from the fact that it's needed to create libraries, which is then used to accumulate knowledge points, which is used to unlock many upgrades and buildings.
Due to wood being renewable by trees regrowing, paper is also renewable by extension.
