Cut stone is a resource that is essentially a more refined and architecturally advanced version of standard stone. Like stone, it is used in the creation of many buildings, but is used for more advanced buildings, especially ones of "grand" quality. Cut stone is created by stone being collected and reshaped in a masonry. It can also make fancy roads, the highest quality road in the game.
Note that when constructing a building in "grand" quality, cut stone costs 2 per tile, rather than the standard 1 per tile like wood and stone, further increasing the expensive factor in using cut stone.
