Mountains are naturally occurring rock structures in the world of Songs of Syx. They act as natural obstructions in the world, but can also provide use to a settlement, as they can be carved into and provide interiors to many buildings, as well as produce stone when being carved out. Stone deposits and ore deposits can be found inside of mountains, meaning that mountains must be carved out to be able to reach them.
Mountains can be carved out by using the Dig into Mountain command, and inversely, mountains can be refilled and returned to their obstructing rocky nature by refilling them with the Refill mountain cave command, which costs 2 stone per tile. Dondorians prefer buildings inside mountains.
