Cantors

From Songs of Syx Wiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

The Cantors are one of six available races in Songs of Syx. Cantors are giants, and will appear as much larger sprites than other races. Cantors are the rarest and most difficult-to-keep race in the game, because compared to the other four races, they are the most difficult to please, requiring the most work in keeping in the player's settlement. Even getting them to arrive at the player's settlement to start with is difficult.

When starting a new/random game, Cantors are the only race unavailable to be chosen as the starting race. They also have the highest life span of any other race in the game, at a whopping 800 years. Specifically, the foods they prefer are meat, fish and eggs.

In-game description

Short description

"Cantors are mythical giants. The few of them that remain are primarily found in the north. They excel at most things, but are difficult to obtain and please."

Long description

"Cantors were the protectors of the Istari themselves. They fought alongside them in the final War of the Gods and the few that survived wandered the north. Having one in your city is a privilege and they excel at many things, warring one of them. Don't be thoughtless with their lives though, as there are not many of them left. They have a distaste for humans."

Trivia

  • Unlike all the other races, there is no building where Cantors can be bred (which is also the case for Dondorians). This is to maintain the Cantors' rare status in the game, keeping them hard to obtain.
