This page contains third-party content and/or mods that are not officially part of Songs of Syx.

Modding or mods, which are shortened words for the term modification, is altering the nature of a game's mechanics in some way. Mods are generally made by players and/or fans of a game to enhance and/or change the nature of a game. Though it is not uncommon for the developers of a game to make mods as well. Mods can range from simply adding a new mechanic to the game, to being a complete conversion of a game. Some mods may even fix game-breaking bugs that have not yet been addressed by the game's developers.

An inverse term for a modified game is the word vanilla, which refers to a completely unmodified game. Some mods may be so helpful or so popular that some games may be considered lower in quality or outright unplayable without them.

Mods for Songs of Syx must be placed in the following directory: C:\Users\Main\AppData\Roaming\songsofsyx\mods

Finding mods

There are two places where mods can be downloaded: the mods section of the main site and the Steam Workshop.

Lizan Race

Author: Pollard1
Link: Mod page
Version: 0.6.1
Size: 109.3KB
Info: Lizen hail from southern jungles and marshes, where their eggs are lain, incubated, and hatch. Their scales provide amazing resistance to the heat, but none for the cold. They are a generally peaceful people, relying on their tough hides and sharp claws should war emerge. Their spirits can be broken when separated from the group, leading to a higher submission when pressed into slavery. More akin to the smaller lizards, such as anoles or skinks, they are small yet quite nimble. Due to their lizard brains, they have very few qualms about cannibalizing the fallen - to the point where it is seen as a respectful way of disposing of a body. This does come at a cost with their lower-than-average intelligence. Notably, they have a short lifespan of roughly 80 years.
